Benjamin Franklin (January 17, 1706 – April 17, 1790) was an American polymath and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. Franklin earned the title of “The First American” for constantly campaigning for colonial unity and co-drafting both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.
